Who we are
Hwange College of Education is a growing teacher-training institution located in Hwange urban area, Zimbabwe. Established on 27 May 2019, the college offers a Diploma in Primary Education and is dedicated to producing quality educators with strong competence in ChiTonga, ChiNambya, and IsiNdebele, the indigenous languages of Matabeleland North.
Located on the former annex of Thomas Coulter Primary School, the college began with modest facilities — eight classrooms, three ablution blocks, and administrative offices. Despite the humble beginnings, Hwange College of Education has grown into a pillar of hope and transformation for communities in Hwange, Binga, Tsholotsho, Nkayi, and Bubi Districts.

Thanks to the support of the Hwange Local Board, the college has been allocated 17 hectares of land for expansion. A comprehensive master plan has been developed, and construction of modern learning facilities, hostels, administration blocks, and staff housing is expected to begin soon — depending on government funding release.
